It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was underway.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the last competing nations at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success following victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as captain.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
